Formwork is most of the job
What decides a foundation is the setting out and the bracing - forms square, level, to the right dimension and braced hard enough that they do not move when concrete goes in. Forming takes longer than the pour because the wall has to hold still while the concrete is placed.
Retaining walls hold back more than soil
A retaining wall on a sloped lot is holding back saturated ground after Upstate rain, and water behind a wall with nowhere to go is what pushes walls over. Drainage behind the wall is part of the wall, not an extra. See retaining walls in Greenville, SC for how we build them.

I interviewed several qualified contractors but nobody understood my project quite like Ace. I'm doing a complex renovation, part inside, part outside, with new slab over new drainage, a new retaining wall, concrete steps, and leveling of an adjacent sloped existing slab (former garage) to match the new floor height. This was a really tricky job.… They worked with me on a plan to pour this monolithic, with a special mix design that worked for all areas, including a bonded topper for the adjacent existing slab, from 4" down to 1.5". Incredible. The result is just what I envisioned for the space. It looks great, and now we're ready to frame in. I'm very pleased with their work and look forward to inviting them back for future projects. I highly recommend these guys.
